The Mendota City Council serves as the governing body responsible for the legislative and policy-making functions of the City. Comprised of dedicated and elected representatives, the Council works collaboratively to address the needs and aspirations of the community. Each member brings unique perspectives and expertise, fostering an environment of thoughtful deliberation and progressive action. The Council’s priorities include enhancing public safety, promoting economic development, improving infrastructure, and ensuring the well-being of all residents. Through transparent governance and active community engagement, the Mendota City Council strives to create a prosperous and inclusive future for the city.
The Mendota City Council consists of five at-large elected City Councilmembers. The members’ terms are staggered, and are set at four years in length, meaning that two or three council members are elected every other year. The positions of Mayor and Mayor Pro Tempore are elected amongst the City Council itself.

The Mendota City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the Mendota City Council Chambers located at 643 Quince Street, Mendota, CA 93640.
